Does resetting network settings lock my unlocked iPhone 4S?
I'm using an unlocked iPhone 4S from sprint on tmobiles network. Unfortunately, my iMessage does not work. I read that resetting network settings usually does the trick, but would that lock my iPhone? I already can't update my phone, so I do not want to reset anything to find out my phone ends up locked.
No it does not. You can reset those settings.
Based of what you're saying, your iPhone is unlocked via a Jailbreak which is why you can't update iOS due to the fact you will loose your Jailbreak.
So, never update your iOS and NEVER restore your phone via iTunes or you'll have to get it Jailbroken again.
The only way to fix this is have the original owner call the original network and pay 35$ to hardware unlock it for you (This will allow you to update and go on any network).
- Will resetting my iphone 5 network affect my connection to my carrier? - 1 My phone has been having problems receiving text messages, and I have found that this is a likely answer to my problem but what will the affects be?
- Will resetting iPhone from Settings menu clear the viruses? I bought an iPhone second-hand. The previous owner claimed that it had a "virus". I know a virus on an iPhone is very unlikely, but considering I'm planning on using this iPhone to check my bank account, I want to make sure there are no viruses. I have Linux, and iTunes is not available for Linux, so I can't restore with iTunes. Would going to Settings and resetting it get rid of this "virus"?
- Why does my iphone 4s settings keep resetting? My phone is not jail broken. I reset my phone every night and sometimes when I reset it when it comes back on some of my settings are reset like my ring-tones, brightness settings and mail settings. One time when I did this it acted like it updated. It has the loading bar and my settings listed above were reset. I recently restored my phone and it keep doing it.
- What will resetting your network on your iPhone do? Will it only log you out of your Wi-Fi? Does it log you out of anything else, like apps? And does it delete anything?
