Does stock-market interest matter to apple?

So, apple just sold a record number of iphones. It is the biggest company in the world and has yearly profits in the dozens of billions; it has billions in assets, and it has billions in cash. It is doing great and, even if you believe it has lost its edge, then more likely in a few years it's going to look like microsoft does today, instead of actually going under.

all right. But all the market sees is that growth is slowing down, so people looking at whether to but the stock figure they're unlikely to double their money on it (that would mean a 1-trillion dollar valuation).

my question is: what if it is over? What if the best apple can do is to keep realeasing iphones, and the number of iphones sold becomes stable, and it remains a company making profits in the billions every quarter, and with no debt, and with a lot of money in its coffers, and nobody wants anything to do with its stock?

what does that actually mean? Does this matter to anyone other than the people speculating on apple's valuation? Will apple's buildings disappear at one point because of this? Will their 140 billion in cash become negative?

can apple just say screw it and go about its business and making billions? The market is hysterical by nature because it's continuously looking to hit the lottery, but can't a company just have a great business and be oblivious to it all?

Because they have so much cash it is unlikely they will ever lose money, but Apple stock is at a very high value right now based on their expected future earnings. If it was valued on everything just staying the same the stock would be worth a lot less.

  • Stock Market HD app on IPhone? I recently purchased the Stock Market HD app on my iPhone and I was wondering if I can actually purchase stocks using the app or if it's simply for following the stock market. Does anyone know?

  • Iphone 5 out of stock on 3 network, will they come back in stock? I'm waiting to buy an iphone 5 for £31 a month for unlimited data, 500 minutes and 5000 texts. On the website it says that is is out of stock. I'm not willing to pay for a 5s and not interested in the 5c or 4s. Will the iphone 5 come back into stock online on the 3 store? I know that Apple discontinued it, but many places are still continuing to sell it. Would 3 continue selling it?
  • I have a strong interest in dreams and lucid dreaming? I don't know why the idea of dreaming is so fascinating to me. Do you know of any sites or apps I can use to teach me more about it? I already have the iDream app, also I have an iPhone. I read most facts about dreams and if you have any good author recommendations please list them below!
