Does the apple store factory unlock iphone 5s?
I have a at&t iphone 5s and would like to use it in Canada. If i bring it to the apple store will they factory unlock it for me? And how much thanks
If the phone is on contract to AT&T then it is not your property until the contract period is over, hence the Apple store will not unlock it. If you want it unlocked you need to approach AT&T and either ask them to have it unlocked or why not just have AT&T supply a roaming plan!
No. Only the original carrier (if you go through them) can do that. Also have the option of sites like Chronic Unlocks.
FYI, as it is now it would work in Canada, but not Canadian carriers (aka roaming)
- Is there a difference? Icloud unlock & factory unlock? I've never had an iPhone, what's the difference in factory unlock & icloud? I've seen something about original owners, is it impossible for me to get an unlocked iPhone and simply make a new account and place a sim card inside?
