Does the iphone 5 work internationally?

I have a cousin who lives in Iraq that wants me to buy him 25 iphone5 from here in the US from the apple company, I wanted to buy them for him but I don't know which service carrier work internationally all I see is at&t, Verizon, and Sprint. He says that the only service that will work for him is a service called carrier full setting, I don't see that service in the apple.com website please help!

You need to buy an 'unlocked' iPhone 5. This means you are buying it without a contract, and without a carrier. The unlocked phone will work with any carrier worldwide that has nano-SIM cards. It will cost more to buy unlocked, but it means you won't be forced to have a 2-year contract with the phone.

Pricing for unlocked iPhone 5 models is $649 for 16GB, $749 for 32GB and $849 for 64GB.

At this time, I don't think Apple is selling iPhone 5 unlocked, but they will soon. If you go to store.apple.com and search for "unlocked iphone", only iPhone 4 and 4s is listed, but this will change.

P.S. If you decide instead to buy an older iPhone like iPhone 4 or 4S, make sure it is either already unlocked, or that it's for AT&T (if it's an AT&T iPhone it's GSM and you can get it unlocked).
