Does the iPhone on Straight Talk use Verizon or Sprint towers?

I wanted to know if the iPhone 4S/5 on Straight Talk uses Verizon or Sprint towers. Verizon is really good in my area, and I was thinking about getting the iPhone with them… But the cost is a little too much. Sprint in our area is pretty spotty so I wanted to see what carrier the Straight Talk iPhone has. I saw on Straight Talks website that it is CDMA and to NOT use a sim card.

ST uses multiple networks, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T(recently stopped selling AT&T SIM) depending on the phone. From what I've known ST's iPhone runs on Verizon network. Contact their CS to be sure.

It totally depends, StraightTalk uses both Verizon and Sprint towers from area to area. If you've good Verizon reception in your area, StraightTalk is using Verizon then in your area.

  • Straight Talk and iPhone 4s (VSW towers) I recently bought an unlocked iPhone 4S (originally from AT&T) from a lady at work. I'm switching to Straight Talk. In my area, Verizon gets the best service. I know that ST uses GSM phones. Another lady at work says that her family got ST phones that use Verizon towers. I was curious if ST uses Verizon towers and if this iPhone 4S will use those towers when I activate and port my number? I want to have good service, so I'm hoping if it will bounce off of the Verizon towers here.
  • Sprint iPhone 4S, can I use on straight talk? I just bought a sprint iPhone 4S, I called straight talk and asked if it would work if I got a straight talk micro SIM card and if I would get service everywhere I do now with my AT&T android, her answer was yes it would definitely work. I've seen a million different answers on google tho. Has anyone tried this or is doing it now? Please give me and answer and explanation. Thank you!(: The iPhone I bought today HAS A MICRO SIM CARD SLOT.

I bought the Straight Talk iPhone 5 at full price, it uses the Verizon Towers, but Verizon doesn't cover my home very well, and I'm wanting to purchase the Straight Talk SIM card, that uses the AT&T towers and get the SIM card cutter tool, but my question is will this work?
