It just makes apps use less power and stops the use of unnecessary background apps. It does not do much but it does enough
It helps more than if it wasn't available.

- Why does my iPhone 5 battery life so low? I recently replaced my iPhone 4S with the 5. Actually the day iOS 7 was released was the day I got my new phone. Anyway, my 4S used to go all day and night without needing a charge, but my iPhone 5 needs to be charged every 3 or 4 hours. Is there something wrong with it or am I simply doomed to have a continuously dying phone for the next 2 years?
