Does the pawn shop wipe iPhones before selling them to people?
I found out that my auntie pawned my iPhone which had pictures of my family and friends. I want to know if the pawn shop wipes the device before selling it?
No, of course not, they just sell pawned stuff, they're not techies.
Most likely as they don't want phones full of junk.
Contact the local pawn shop that has your aunties phone and ask if they've wiped it yet, maybe ask them if you could bring a laptop or pc in to transfer the pictures off if you wanted.
Best of Luck
Most likely, yes.
They should do if they are even remotely professional.
Depends on the pawn shop. If you can prove that the phone is yours, take the cops with you (after you report the phone stolen), and go pick your phone up. Granted your auntie will go to jail, but that is a where a thief belongs.
If you enabled Find my iPhone. You could lock it down and make it a useless brick.
Guess that would depend on the pawn shop. Some may, some may not.
Pawn shops arent in the business of doing this for you. You should use find my iphone to wipe it remotely.
Actually if its icloud locked then I would be surprised any pawn shop even took it, or they probably gave very little money for it, because no one takes icloud locked phones.
- Why people like iPhones? I can't never get people who like iphones to give a good reason, why? Some say it easy, but a lot have no clue on how to use their own phones. Can someone explain something useful that great about iphone? Everything they think is special other phones have been doing for years.
- Why do people who are selling iPhone 4s sell them less if they are Sprint or Verizon? I'm looking for a White iPhone 4 or 4s on AT&T. I was on Ebay.com and people that are selling the iPhone 4's for AT&T cost from $300-$500. But for Sprint and Verizon iPhone 4 they are in the range of $180-$250. Why is there a reason for this. And I also see the same thing on craigslist.org also.
- My iphone 4 was stolen and found, why would I have to pay pawn shop? My iphone 4 was stolen from a subway(Ocoee, Florida) restraunt since then it has been found pawned in a pawn shop in Orlando, Florida. I'm being told I have to pay $50 to get it back from pawn shop, is this right? Is this a law to protect pawn shops losses from accepting stolen property?
