Does this sound like an eBay scam?

So a lady just bought something on eBay from me. She sent me a text message on my iPhone for some reason (I'm wondering how she got my number) and said this:

Good Day Reed, I'm Mrs Brenda Benjamin from FL, a member of the Jehovah Witness. I just won your item on eBay (she never won anything, she did buy it now) and I will be sending International as a birthday gift to my son, who is in the US army, presently in Nigeria for peace keeping. I will be paying extra for shipping expenses. Waiting for the shipping cost and the Paypal money Request so the payment can be made at once, so that the item can get to my Son in West Africa as soon as possible."

I always get messages from people in Nigeria saying that they're willing to pay extra. It's kind of making me feel uncomfortable that she has my phone number and sent me a text message explaining this to me. It honestly sounds like a scam, as she is a new member. What do you guys think?

Added (1). I texted her back saying that I would not go through with the deal. I'm very worried that since she got my number, she might have other details of mine as well. I reported her to eBay. Anyone know how long it'll take for them to take action?

It is a scam. Nigerians are always finding new angles.

It's a scam! Never send whatever your selling to anyone. Always meet them in person and ask for cash. Scammers will say things like "I will pay extra if you do this or that" or tell you they'll pay way more then what you are asking for. Beware please. Ton of people fall for scams like this.

Yes it's a scam. If she pays extra it'll either be a fake PayPal site that will try to steal your PayPal login info, or she'll pay extra with a fake check and ask you to send her the difference, which you'll do before your bank tells you the check is fake.

Yes. It's a scam. A real JW would always say, "I'm one of the Jehovah's Witnesses."

100% SCAM!

SCAM, SCAM, S-C-A-M! I would never, ever, E-V-E-R (EVER-EVER-EVER) have -ANY-ANY-ANY- SORT OF DEALINGS WITH ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING THAT CONTAINED EVEN THE WORD 'NIGERIA!' They've been scamming for years, an unbelievable amount in the UK & have ramped up their scammin' the US midly in the past few years. As Nancy Reagan said in the 80's… "JUST SAY NO!"

You could have had her pay everything through the eBay process and insist on shipping to her Florida address.

Take her ID name and BLOCK HER

then go CANCEL THE TRANSACTION to recover your auction fees.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate birthdays. Yes, this is a scam.

Scam
More proof - there are no US Army peacekeepers in Nigeria
You never give anyone on eBay your phone number. State very clearly in your ad that you ONLY ship to verified addresses in the US and ignore everyone else
