Does transferring music to my computer makes the song low quality?

I got an ipod and will buy an iphone next week. I love my music there so i want to transfer it to my computer.

There should not be any quality degradation when you transfer a music file to another place. It's basically in the definition of what "copy" is. You're basically making a clone/copy of the file itself so I wouldn't expect to see any difference.

Depends…
If you just copy the file then no…

But if you use itunes it would depend on your import settings and the copy to media folder setting.

For example…
Run itunes >Edit >Preferences>Advanced > Copy files to itunes media folder when adding to library.

If the files are not set to copy when you add music to your library then the original file is the source and that is played from the itunes library…

If the files are set to copy to itunes media folder when adding to library then the files might be converted depending on the import settings, converting music lowers the quality…

Import settings by default are the same for audio files and CD's.found here…
Run itunes > Edit >preferences>General>import settings…

No, the song quality would be the same. If you don't know how to copy music from iPod back to computer, this step by step guide will help you a lot.

No. Would like to transfer files from iPod to iPhone? If so, you can use Wireless Transfer App to achieve this. IThis is the one I have found on the App Store. It is very convenient to use.

Generally speaking, the music after transferred would not become low quality. But it depends. I know a way for transferring, which would not make the music low quality. You can use the iStonsoft iPod to computer transfer.

You just need to do as the following tutorial:

I think this way would help you out.

  • Why does my iPhone receive good quality videos as bad quality videos? So I recently met a famous guy in concert and when I got a picture wth him I was getting a video and my friend used her phone to video it. So she sent it to me and it was like terrible quality and the video was like little with a huge black border around it. But yet it looks perfectly fine on her phone? How do I fix it? Whenever I try to get video editing apps it always says error & only with that particular video. I have an iPhone 5c, and so does my friend.
  • Which takes up more space on my iPhone: a song in the music app or a song downloaded from Spotify? Assuming it's the same song, obviously, using the default quality settings for each. I need more space on my phone, and want to see if I can save space in the music department.
