Does using iPhone emoji in a text message count as an MMS?
I'm on a Vodafone contract with my iPhone and for the last few months I've been charged a couple of £££ extra. Vodafone rang me this morning and the man on the phone advised me to stop sending picture messages as that's how I'm being charged.
However, I don't send MMS to anyone, ever. And it's just occurred to me that the only pictures in my texts are the iPhone emoji. Does anyone know does iPhone convert SMS to MMS when using emoji in texts? This scares me because only last night I sent my friend loads of 4-leaf clovers in a text for good luck and I'm dreading to think how much that text might have cost me! Haha.
Its a normal txt. Sms
I wouldn't think so, but it is a plausible explanation since you say you don't MMS. Emojis should count as characters, not media.
- Will my message be delivered if sent as text message on iphone? My friend said that she was having phone problems earlier today. My message was being sent as an imessage, but I guess she wasn't receiving everyone of them, just getting the notifications that they were sent to her but she couldn't read them. I then responded to her, but it was sent as a text message this time and i have gotten no response. I'm not as much concerned about her responding or not, I just want to know if she will receive the message.
- Why won't my 5c send a message as MMS when it's a long message to a non iPhone user? Whenever I type a LONG message to an SMS user (says Text Message in the messaging "box") my 5c won't convert to MMS and the recipient gets the message in dozens of out of order messages instead of the whole fluid message. I have MMS on in Settings. What can I do and why is it doing this?
- IPhone 4: Does using your Wi-Fi count as data? I'm using my iPhone and I have my Wi-Fi on. If I'm online, is that just using the Wi-Fi or is that counting towards my data usage?
- If i'm connected to Wi-Fi, will that still count as using my data plan? I have an iPhone 4s, with Verizon Wirless, and i'm wondering if using Wi-Fi counts as using your data?
