Does Verizon randomly change its monthly rates?

I've always had either Cricket or T-Mobile with no contract, just a pay as you go plan. My service sucked with both of those, and I've heard great things about Verizon's service in my area, but I've never done a 2 year contract before. A friend told me that with a lot of 2 year contracts they'll raise their prices and pretty soon you're paying way more each month than you ever planned for and there isn't much you can do about it unless you're willing to pay a huge price to get out of your contract. Is that true? Does Verizon do that? I was looking into their More Everything plan, and it would be really awesome if it was as good as it seems, but I'm afraid of getting locked into something that I won't be able to afford later down the line.

Are there any long-time Verizon users that have any information I should know before I switch over?

(Just FYI, I don't know if this is important, but I would be doing the Free 8G iPhone with the 2 year contract.)

Yeah with a 2 year contract with Verizon expect to pay around $80 for 1GB of data internet with unlimited talk and text. If you decided you want 2GB of data internet with unlimited talk and text then you would pay $90 a month. This does not yet include any taxes each month yet for just one line.

Once you are locked in, you would agree to a 2 year contract and if you can't pay your bill anytime during those two years you would be required to pay the termination fee. I never had a problem with Verizon increasing the bill. It increases if you go over your data plan or use too much internet or your phone.

So you have to look at your finances to see if you can afford to pay $80 to $90 per month not including any taxes yet for 2 years.
