Dropped Iphone 4 cracked screen Q?
Being an idiot i dropped my Iphone 4 on the screen and the screen then got a crack in it. Its still working so it seems and the touch screen is still working thankfuly enough, I don't want to pay all sorted of money and because its iphone4 there's more better iphones out now so I don't want to be paying to fix an outdated phone, My Q is, its working and doesn't seem to affect its use at all, is it likely considering I don't drop it again it will continue to work without any problems or is it now on a lifeline time scale?
If it's working then it's working
If you do not apply any excess force to the cracked part of the screen, it will work.
And you're right that the iPhone 4 (not to be confused with 4S) doesn't work fixing because its power is insufficient for modern software.
Yeah its not really worth paying to fix it which is usually around £40 for a phone which has a used value of around £70/80. But if its working then thats all you need to worry about, there isn't a time limit or anything before it packs in. The screen is just glass so it won't affect the phones performance.
I'm an iOS Technical Advisor in the states. It shows that this post was originally on the ireland one so I'm assuming that is where you are. I do not really know the international policies but I'm pretty sure they are almost the same.
If you drop the phone and crack the screen, we consider that accidental damage and it is not covered by the warranty. Typically we just replace the phone when that happens but it is possible to get a partial repair. Call Apple and we can figure out where you need to go to get it done and then set up an appointment so you don't have to wait when you get there.
Or atleast that is how it works here in the states
It still works. Apple does free repairing.
- I dropped my iPhone and the screen cracked? Okay so my iPhone screen cracked and I have to tell my dad because he bought me it. How do I tell him? I speak to him over the phone because he doesn't live with me. I want to be honest with him.
- I dropped my iphone 6s and only the top right corner cracked, but the screen has vertical white lines;? The lines are not opaque and change color according to the colors displayed on the screen (i.e. Yellow produces red lines, etc.) Also the very right side of the screen is unresponsive and the rest of the screen keeps opening random apps and pressing random things. Calls still come through and the audio is fine. My question is, what's broken/needs fixing and about how much would it cost?
