Dropped iphone in water! Must cool before using again

So I recently dropped my iPhone 4s in water were it was almost completely submerged for 3 seconds at most. The phone appeared to be fine but to be sure I placed it in a bag of uncooked rice for 24 hours. I then took it out and charged it for 10 min to see if i had gotten any important texts but soon after I received a message saying "You must let the iPhone cool before using it again" or something of that sort. With a black screen and yellow triangle.

I decided to turn it off and place it back in the bag of rice and i'm not sure what to do now. Maybe let it sit for a few days but what is the problem with the phone? Is it fixable? Will this pass? All other functions work perfectly. The phone works fine but will get that message randomly and pretty much lock the phone up.

The phone is not hot at all but I did let it sit under a lamp while it was in the bag for about 12 hours. I've gotten this message a few times while the phone was not even hot.

I would try leaving it somewhere cool. Not near any source of heat. The system itself in the phone could be hot.

You shouldn't have left it under the lamp. It might of caused it to make the battery overheat and get destroyed and the only way is to replace your iPhone or put it in a cool(not too cold) room for a couple of hours.

Inside the phone are two tags: at least two tags:. They indicate if the phone has been dropped in water they will not change colors back mine are red and white but my phone has not been dropped in water.you're doing one of the things I read that has been said has worked in the past but I can't tell you never done it. I've had a friend who dropped his in the dishwater where I work. He had to take it in they were able to retrieve his data but he also want to buy a new phone. Sorry for the bad news I think it's done.
