Dropped Iphone in water, now won't charge correctly?
I dropped my phone in water a couple hours ago. I got it out and dried it off and it all seemed to be fine. I put it on the charger and it charged for about 15 min before I noticed that it had stopped charging. After a while, it began to charge again, but not very quickly and once off the charger, the battery drops quick. I don't really want to take it to a phone store and have them keep it for a few days as I'm going out of town for the weekend. Any suggestions?
That was a big mistake. If an electronic device is wet, you don't charge it. IF there was any chance of recovering it, you probably permanently damaged it by plugging it in.
You can't really get it fixed; it's usually a replacement you'll get.
IF you are lucky, it may only be a damaged battery, but there's no way to know that for sure until you replace it.
Go to the Genius Bar and be ready to cough up a band
DO NOT CHARGE YOUR PHONE IF IT IS WATER DAMAGED
You probably just fried your jack and shorted the electronics that "clean" the current.
Here are some steps, you can try:
1: Completely power off the phone.
2. Remove the SIM card from the tray, and place it in a safe location to dry.
3. Fill up a Ziplock bag with rice or silica gel.
4. Completely bury the phone and SIM card in rice for at least 72 hours.
5. After at least 72 hours, take the phone out of the rice, and vacuum the ports to remove rice dust, and possibly water. Make sure to get the power jack, two microphones (looks like little holes), 3.5 mm headphone jack, and the sim card tray area (I'm pretty sure you can remove the tray).
6. Power on the and pray it turns on. Than, try charging it. IF you are lucky everything should be fine. If not, be prepared to spend up to $400 on battery, power jack, and other important charging chips

It seems like the phone is still working because it still makes noise when I touch the buttons and my alarm still went off this morning but the screen is completely black. It is in rice now but is that still the best solution if everything is working except my screen? And I know I'm supposed to turn it off but I can't because the screen won't work.
- I dropped my iphone in water and now it won't turn on? I dropped my Iphone 4 In the water, I tried to turn it on by pressing both the home and the power button at the same time. The apple loggo started to glow but then it turned off and now I can't turn it on again. Is there any way I can make it work again or should I just buy a new one?
