Dropped my iPhone 5 in the pool.what do I do?

I put it rice but I don't think that will do anything since apple products are so tightly sealed. Is there anything else I can do?

Ok so good u put it
in rice leave ir there over night, if it lives tada if not well… You need a new iphone

You have to leave it in the rice for 48 hours no less!

You need to disconnect the battery which requires opening up the phone. If you left the battery connected for over an hour, then chances are your phone is severely damaged due to electrolytic corrosion. Rice won't help in cases where there's severe flooding of the device. BTW, iPhones aren't tightly sealed since water can easily get in through the 3.5mm earphone jack.

You need to leave it 3 days or so. If you already turned it on then its probably too late, in that case take it the apple store.

Apples don't taste well with rice. I'd prefer to eat rice with meat and vegetables. The apple, I'd have it solo for dessert.

Buy a new iPhone and this time around, tie it around your neck.

  • My iphone 4s dropped in the pool what should I do? My iphone dropped in the pool 2 nights ago and I immediately put it in rice… It has been in rice for a little over 24 hrs but is still not working, what should I do?
  • My Iphone 4 fell in a pool but not just a normal pool? It fell off my pocket and stayed at the bottom of the pool which was filled with sea water for 10 minutes, is there even 1% chance of it beeing fixed?
  • Is tbere any major différence between thé iPhone 6 and the 6s? Whooppeee is Xmas again and my daughter wants new 2nd hand) iPhone… 2 years ago almost bought her 5 before i réaliséd that it was 5s she wanted ( cos thé 5 sucks?) And I don't want to screw up this year…
  • IPhone 4 was dropped in my pool? I got it out and didn't think to turn it off. I had music playing and it stopped. I dried it off and it's been in a bowl of rice since 5. My back camera has water droplets inside the camera (it looks foggy) and my flash won't shut off. My phone was on 75% when I dropped it. It's been 5 and a half hours. Shouldn't the battery have died already? Will my phone ever work again? And how long should I keep my phone in the rice?
