EBay rules case in favor of buyer, any hope for me?

Long story short, I shipped an iPhone to Russia in January and here we're in March and there hasn't been a shipping update from USPS since January. The buyer of course opened a case and eBay ruled in their favor, even though I have proof that I shipped the item. So here I'm $125 in PayPal debt because eBay refunded the buyer. How exactly is this fair to me? I get why the buyer would be upset but what about the seller? I have over 500 positive transactions, I explained this to the eBay customer service agent who continued to tell me that as long as the package isn't "delivered" I'm out $125 and an iPhone. I'm planning on calling USPS tomorrow to see about the tracking delay. Does anyone have a similar situation? Or any advice?

If you are stupid enough to sell to Russia, I hope you are smart enough to send it insured. It is your responsibility the buyer gets the item.

May not have been my best decision, but I'm not stupid.

Yes, I have advice for you: learn what the H you're doing BEFORE you sell an expensive gadget, not after.

I guess those 500 successful transactions were purchases on your part, not sales? Please don't tell me you've made 500 sales on eBay and you still don't know how seller protection works?

You're long overdue for a visit from the clue fairy:

1. You didn't get any tracking outside the US because you didn't buy a service that provides tracking to the buyer's door. Those services are outrageously expensive.

2. YOU are responsible for ensuring the item is DELIVERED to the buyer in the condition in which it was advertised in the auction,.

3. You must be able to prove DELIVERY, not shipment, or you will lose any and all INR claims.

And a free bonus…

4. Life isn't fair.

  • What are shop rules on miss sold iPhones? Hi, this is a strange problem but basically I traded in my iPhone 4 to upgrade to the iPhone 4S today and when I got home and started to set up my new iPhone it had been labelled up in the shop as an iPhone 4S for 275 but it was only an iPhone 4, I would like to know what the best result I can get? For example discounted price and iPhone 4S or what?
  • Rules for writing text messages? When writing text Messages, are there rules or anything I need to know? I have an iPhone and I don't use text language. Do I need to wait for the other person to reply? Is it better to text someone at a certain time(s), etc?
  • My iPhone SE went for a swim with me - Any hope? So right now I'm in Outer Banks (beautiful area, my family rented a house with a pool and a short walk to the beach) and I went for a 5ish minute swim in the pool. Then my mom called me in to have lunch, and that s when I realized I f ed up. My family is big, so I had a bunch of suggestions being thrown at me at once, a bunch of them being the bag or rice. We don't have rice at the house, and nobody s gone food shopping yet. Is my phone a lost cause? Any advice would be a great help.
