Edit iTunes Library.itl file on a mac?
I recently purchased a new Macbook Air and would like to be able to sync it with my iPhone without the loss of data that's currently in the phone. I've done some research and found: "http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.p… To be a common solution for this issue. However I can't complete step 8 because Hex edit tells me that it's read-only.
Is there a way around this?
P.S. I think it's really bad planning/engineering on Apple's part for this one-computer-to-one-iphone rule. I understand that this could be a measure to restrict sharing of purchases and etc. But if they could have thought of a way for people to verify that it's the same primary user and that the primary user is not trying to infringe against any copyrights, then that should be sufficient enough to allow people to sync to new computers.
For the amount of effort I've put into trying to get my iPhone to "pair" with this Macbook Air, almost makes me regret purchasing it.
Plenty of options at the links below.
The sync isn't to a computer. It is to a phone or to an iPod.
About your URL: Don't add " or ( or anything to it. That cuts it off. You need a space and then http://whatwhat.com and another space, not even a period at the end.
Can you just use your computer to download songs instead of the phone? That would solve the whole issue.
- Will downloading a new iTunes ruin my old iTunes library? I tried connecting my new iPhone 5 to my iTunes but it said that it wouldn't connect because my version of iTunes was really old (from 2010) and I never updated. It said I need to download a new version of iTunes (10.7 onwards) for it to be compatible with my iPhone. But my question is, IF I download a new version of iTunes, will all my old songs on my old iTunes disappear? Because if I had to re-download my whole library, I would seriously cry. That would take the rest of my life.
- Why won't my iPhone open up a iMovie file sent from my Mac? I made an iMovie on my mac and want it on my phone. I tried emailing and texting the iMovie to my phone and it says that 'Mail can't open this attachment'. How can I get it on my phone?

- Music library manager for Mac? ALTERNATIVE TO ITUNES? I never really used iTunes because I just used my phone and Frostwire (then deleted the frostwire songs from my old computer to get back space. They stayed on my iPhone) Now I have a new MacBook Pro and over 80% of my music didn't show up in iTunes. I want a music library manager that is not iTunes.
