Find my iPhone setting on iPhone 5?
So I lost my phone the other day, and I'm a total noob about all this technology stuff. If the Find My iPhone setting is enabled on the phone, does it work without the app? And how can i use that to find my phone? LOL
also. Would it work if the phone is off? I would assume the battery has died by now.
Depending on when you lost the phone, more than likely the battery is dead. But there might be a bit of light at the end of the tunnel.
Go to icloud.com/#find, and sign in with your Apple ID that you use with iCloud. If you had find my iPhone enabled, it should show up there. If its online, it'll show up on a map. I'd recommend enabling Lost Mode and setting a passcode that wouldn't be easy to guess (like a birthday or last 4 of your social). You can also enable email notifications for when the phone comes online (say someone finds it and charges it). Lost mode also lets you put in a short message and a phone number, so if someone finds it, they can contact you (if they're nice enough)
If you're on iOS 7, FMiP enables Activation Lock so if someone tries to wipe your phone or something, they have to know your iCloud account and password in order to even use the phone, so your info is safe
- Setting up ringtone on iPhone 4? I can't set up a ringtone for my iPhone 4 so I can hear the ringtone as someone calls. I have gone into Settings and Sounds and turned up the volume of the ringtone. However, when someone calls, the iPhone only vibrates and doesn't ring. What other ways can ringtone be activated and hears on the iPhone 4?
