Found an iPhone but want to return it?

So I found an iPhone 4 or 5, I'm not sure. But I'm not a total ***** and I'd like to return it to its owner. Having a hard time, phone has a password, can't access contacts. How can I find the owner?

Hand it into the police I guess. The owner may activate a thing called "Find My iPhone", which allows them to track where their phone is. They can even put up a message on the screen asking you to bring it to an address. So, wait a bit and then hand it in if nothing happens.

Go to the contact and get his/her parents number from there. Than call on the number and inform them to take phone back.

Look in top left of screen, see which network it is using (Verizon, etc.) and then take it to one of those stores. They will probably be able to unlock the phone's password and find the customer who owns it in their database.

I'd turn it into the police and or an Apple Store to see if they can help find the owner.

This is what you do - Pull the sim card tray out of the phone, underneath the tray, you will find the IMEI # - record it down, see what sim card carrier he has. Contact the carrier, telling them you find an iPhone 4 and give them the IMEI # and tell them to have the owner contact you.
