Freezing issues with brand new Sony Vaio laptop with Windows 8?
I just purchased a Sony Vaio E series 15128 laptop with windows 8 today. I have started the laptop regularly and it appeared to be running a little slow after it finished getting started. I thought that this may be because it had not had recent updates installed, so I installed the updates. This however, brought on constant freezing, but somehow finished three updates (of the original 12 updates that it needed). Slowly logging back onto my laptop after restarting from the updates, I tried to update the rest of the 9 that had not been included on the first set of updates, and they would not update. It's progression stays at 0%. My Internet is running fine (I'm accessing it perfectly from my iPhone right now) and I'm able to access it through google chrome on my laptop, but I avoid this as my laptop is constantly freezing even while it isn't doing updates! This is VERY frustrating, and is making my brand new laptop useless right now.
I have been searching the net for various answers and have seen a few similar issues with freezing problems but no solutions and none similar to mine, especially as my laptop is brand new! I have tried opening task manager as I have heard about a mcafee bug, but I don't even have mcafee, I have trend micro.
If anyone can help me with this it would mean a lot.
You absolutely need to return this laptop while you still can.first off, sony will not warrant this laptop in any serviceable way, so you don't want it going past the point where you can return it from the store or ordering service.second, windows 8 is a disaster, and should be avoided at all costs. If you aren't able to return this laptop, at least download yourself a copy of windows 7 and install that instead.
1- if it is getting hot you might have vga or processor problem
2- if it is frezzing without getting hot, try changing ram, or updating your wireless card.
please try to disable the wireless card first and check ifit will run, before checking the previous points.
- Wi-Fi Disabled on Sony Vaio? All of the wireless connections on my Sony Vaio laptop are disabled. It will not recognize any connections. It says there aren't any available. There are connections available because I'm using my Wi-Fi connection on my Apple TV and iPhone. I have turned on the switch on the computer to enable the Wi-Fi but it won't work. The network adapter is also enabled.
- Which Camera to Buy: Sony WX350 or Sony WX220? I'm looking to purchase a camera for my upcoming vacation. I currently use my iPhone 6 to take all my photos and want something a little better. I have done some research and it seems like Sony makes pretty good cameras. The most important factors to me are image quality and price. I'm looking to spend $220 max. Please let me know which of the two you would recommend, unless you there's something else better.
- Sony Vaio won't pick up Wi-Fi? My sony vaio laptop, which is less than 3 months old is not finding any Wi-Fi networks, but I have a hotspot from AT&T and my home router that my iphone picks up both. I can't get internet unless I turn on my phone hotspot and plug it in, so it acts like a hardware connection. The Wi-Fi is on on the laptop.
- Sony Vaio laptopwifi/internet keeps stopping? For the past week. My daughter's laptop keeps losing Wi-Fi and internet or taking forever to connect. Rang Vodafone who advised changing channels til we found one that worked. None helped the laptop. All other devices are fine. Is it just a coincidence that this has become a problem since she got an iphone 6 plus? She says she has turned the iphone off and the laptop still has problems. Tonight she and iphone are out and the laptop is connected- Wi-Fi and internet.
