Which Camera to Buy: Sony WX350 or Sony WX220?

I'm looking to purchase a camera for my upcoming vacation. I currently use my iPhone 6 to take all my photos and want something a little better. I have done some research and it seems like Sony makes pretty good cameras. The most important factors to me are image quality and price. I'm looking to spend $220 max.

Please let me know which of the two you would recommend, unless you there's something else better.

I would stay away from Sony Products, they do not back them as well as Canon, Nikon & Pentax?
How do I know that?-PERSONAL EXPERIENCE!

While I disagree with Nick P on staying away from All Sony products (their A7 series are the best mirrorless cameras in the world with better image quality than anything from Canon or Pentax). However, we're not talking about the $2,000+ cameras. In your case, I'd stay away from the WXxxx series from Sony. The problem is that these camera have the same pixel size as your iPhone 6, which is roughly (squared microns). It's because of the small sensor and the small pixels that makes for such poor image quality - NOT the amount of pixels.
Getting a camera with the largest pixels and the largest sensor that you can afford will produce photos with the best image quality that you can afford. At your price point, you can either get a mirrorless camera like the Pentax Q7 (229 without a lens), or get a point-and-shoot camera. Unfortunately, all of the point-and-shoot cameras in your price range have sensors and pixels equal in size to that of a common smartphone. So you will not be getting much of an improvement in image quality by going with a pocket point-and-shoot camera. However, you will get more versatility and may get sharper images due to the superior optics of the zoom lenses.

If I was you, I'd would buy used. Buying used when you've got a low budget, or just don't want to spend a lot, will get you a much better camera than spending the same amount on a new one. For example, the Canon S110 is a much better camera than the Sony WX350 or WX220 -http://www.digicamdb.com/compare/sony_cybershot-dsc-wx350-vs-canon_powershot-s110/
You can buy the S110 new for $250 or save 20% and buy it used for only $200 at keh.com. The S110 was just discontinued and replaced with the S120, so the saving buy buying used isn't all that amazing.

The Canon G11, on the other hand, is older but still a great camera and is the best used camera that KEH has in your price range - http://www.digicamdb.com/compare/sony_cybershot-dsc-wx350-vs-canon_powershot-g11/ New, it was Canon's top of the line selling for more than $400, but you can get it used for only $150 and it will have a warranty too - Something you won't get off of eBay or Craigslist.

Yes, you are correct. Sony does make pretty good cameras. The only problem is that they last so long you'll get tired using them.

Image quality will be the same because that depends on your skill. The camera is only a tool. With that off your back, the only thing left is price. Get the most expensive one that doesn't go over your budget.

  • Which Sony Xperia model to buy? So it's that time again where I can upgrade my contract, I've decided to steer away from iPhones and go for one of the Xperia series, I've been looking particularly at the z, and the z1. I did look at the z ultra but that looks like more of a tablet. So Which model is the the best out of the Xperia models an why?
  • Which is Better Sony Xperia Z or iPhone 5? I want to buy a new phone, but I'm confused. Xperia Z has quad core, android JB, 2 GB ram, Full HD display and 13MP camera. Iphone 5 has dual core, ios6, 1GB ram, decent display and 8MP camera. i heard that Xperia z screen and the camera quality is not good. And iPhone 5, i'm new to ios, previously i was an android user, and pretty much i know how the OS is. But ios, i don't have an idea. Please suggest me a good phone and tell me why it's good than the other
