Game consoles won't connect to my router?
Ever Since my dad got a Xfinity Wi-Fi router, I haven't been able to connect my game consoles to it. I would test the connection and it could connect to the router, just not to the internet. I have been able to connect my Iphone and Ipad to the router. (My dad is not fond of the idea of an ethernet cable or moving my console).
Is there a way to help my game consoles connect or should I accept my fate.
Connect your iPad to your router then visit the Wi-Fi settings and write down the:
- IPv4 address
- Subnet Mask
- Default Gateway
- DNS Server(s)
The connect one of your game consoles to your Wi-Fi. Check out the IP info you're getting and write down the same settings: IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, DNS servers.
Now compare the two. Except for the IP address, the other settings should be the same. If not, either research why or update the bottom of your question with the differences and we'll take a look.

Just wanted to know the difference between a cheap router and an expensive router, I know that is a very broad question, I'm just a bit confused on how a router works. Does it increase my Internet speed on multiple devices? I get 50Mb per second, Well at least that's what I pay for. I have a PS3 two iPhones and a tablet, as well as a desktop PC that is wireless. Can anyone recommend an excellent router under $150
- What devices have HDMI output other than DVD/Blu-ray players, game consoles, and some computers? I have a monitor, I wonder what kind of devices can project their images onto the screen other than video players and game consoles. Any way to project the image of my tablet/phone onto the screen?
