GCSE art old and new in the city?

This is my theme for my first GCSE final piece in year 10.
I really need some ideas for an interesting and unique piece!

I thought about doing a painting of an old building (such as Big Ben- I went to London recently and took lots of photos of old buildings) and then framing the painting with the iPhone camera interface so it looks like I'm taking the photo with some new technology. But this seemed a bit boring- any ideas would be appreciated- I'm trying to do something a little bit different and not just do a painting of an old building with lights on or an old person with a child or something. And it must be "city" related!

What about something like this? image

or something like this: image

This is just to give an idea. The first is old and new outside, the second is old and new inside.

  • Would it be okay to put logos of other companies in without permission in my art? I'm joining this nationwide art competition in my country with the theme of "consumerism." I'm planning on putting an iPhone on my artwork but instead it will say iDiot. Will designing it in a slightly altered way avoid lawsuits? Do you think the competition will reject my entry if they saw a representation of the iPhone? It will not be the main object in my piece, just a little accessory. Like really small.
  • Why is the iPhone 4s cover art in the music smaller than iPhone 5 and 6? I'm not sure how to explain it. I have a iPhone 4s and when I go to my music and click a song, the cover art is a little square, but for an iphone 5 or 6, the cover art covers the whole space.
  • Why do I get the wrong cover art from my iTunes to my iPhone? I download music from frost wire to my iTunes. On my iTunes it had the correct cover art but when it's on my phone the cover art from songs I've had that are now deleted are on the songs. I downloaded one song by dirt nasty and it gives me the wrong cover art from a song I deleted for ever ago. I even deleted frost wire and iTunes and downloaded them again but the problem still happens Help Please
  • What city is this on the new iPhone commercial? The 'FaceTime Every Day' commercial, the newest iPhone commercial. It's midway through when a woman is showing a picturesque view of a city to a person on FaceTime. It's at 32 sec:
