Getting an iPhone 5 soon, but it's an import. What will I need to do with it?
I'm going on a trip to the United Kingdom soon to see my sister, who has offered to give me her old iPhone 5 to take back with me to the United States. I accepted the offer, but I want to know for sure if it'll work on the AT&T network. I believe the iPhone 5 that's waiting for me was originally on the O2-UK network, and that all of the UK's mobile networks are GSM. AT&T is a GSM network, so I can only assume that taking my AT&T SIM card and putting it in the UK bought iPhone 5 shouldn't be a problem, but is that true? And what else would I need to do? Do I have to contact O2 and/or AT&T? Does the device need to go through Customs for either country? Will I need to have it unlocked? Will it work with AT&T's LTE band? Will I ever stop asking all these questions about it? Okay, that's probably a "yes" on that last question, but I still want answers to my other questions. Any true help is much appreciated.

The phone would need to be unlocked in order for any other carrier's SIM to work in it. As it stands now it would only work with O2 SIM cards.
No, customs is not an issue. Not sure of the LTE bands. Would have to check what differences there are between O2 & AT&T & what the phone itself uses, but it is pretty likely it wouldn't be a problem since the iPhones support the most data bands.
- Windows 7 Laptop will not import iPhone 3GS photos, but imports videos? I tried to import photos and videos from my 3GS using the import photos button built in to Windows 7. For some reason the photos will not import when I try, but the videos will. I get the message "The following error occurred while importing IMG_0003.JPG: The system can't find the path specified. What do you want to do? Try again, Skip this file, Skip all files with errors." The phone was unlocked and it still did not work.
- My iPhone will sync, but I can't import photos? When I plug my iPhone 4s into my laptop, iTunes works fine, but the 'autoplay' pop-up option doesn't appear so I can import photos from my phone to my laptop. I've tried going into My Computer, but it's not listed. I've also tried unplugging it and restarting both my phone and laptop. I'm just wondering if there's a way to switch 'autoplay' back on as it does not appear any more, or if there are settings on my phone I need to fix.
- My contract is ending soon and I plan to buy an iPhone 5s but? There are media rumours that iPhone 6 is coming out very soon. Do I really have to buy the latest model? What if there's an iPhone 5s and there's a big difference between the two models? I can wait but still I would like to have the iPhone (either) soon.
- Locked iPhone and need sim card to use because I restarted it but i don't have the specific sim I need. Please i'm desperate? Ok so my aunt got me an iPhone from Canada but its sim locked and it says I need to insert a sim card for it to work. The problem is i don't have a sim from that specific company that locked it and the only thing I can do is emergency calls and all that. I can't even use it as an iTouch or something.
