Going on a road trip tomorrow, want to use Route 66?
Going from oklahoma to Yuma az. Will stopping in sante fe tomorrow night. My maps app on my iphone doesn't give me the option to use Route 66. But apparently a lot of it is parallel to I-40. Can I make my gsp use Route 66?
I think Route 66 is now an 'historical' route, so many tracking systems can't find it. But, it is fairly well marked & well traveled, so you should not have a hard time finding it. Take the side trip to Oatman, AZ, as you go by - Neat little historical town.
You will be able to see the old 66 if it is still there.
a lot of places it no longer exists.
Always print out a route as a backup, just in case something unexpected happens. I downloaded the free mapquest app also, it has good driving directions too.
Most of it is undrivable. You'll see signs along I-40 showing where it is. The best idea would be to just follow I-40 and get off when you see signs for Route 66.
- What should I do on a road trip? Um apparently I'm going on a road trip from CO to Idaho… I don't really want to go I'd rather stay with my dad and hang out with my friends and not be excluded from their sleepovers, etc. Yeah I guess I have to go with my mom and sis. - Using iPhone 4 as gps on road trip? I'm driving from MN to FL, and plan on using my iPhone 4 as a gps (using the google maps app). The trip is long, over 24 hours, and I'm wondering if the phone could overheat? Also, would roaming charges incur? I have AT&T as a carrier.
