Got a really freaky, weird text message from an unknown number?
The message hi i'm xxxxx friend of xxxxxx do you have an iphone?
firstly i know nobody by the xxxx names she gave… At all! The sender is a 'girl' or claims to be. I believe it not!
i have no idea how they got my number.although i have been applying for jobs lately (ALOT) & i today received a reply from a job which i HAD NOT applied for.
should i text back?

Could be someone offering cheaper rates for iphone users? The job offer sounds like a spammer or scammer. Don't reply, sounds like messages sent out to random numbers.
I agree that this is a spammer. I bet the name of the friend she gave was a common one? They send them out to random numbers and a small amount of people will respond and then they try to get them to buy something. You know those flashing messages that come up 'You have won an iphone!' when you haven't entered a competition for an iphone? Like that.
Probably a spam text message hoping you'd reply and then they'd be able to confirm you got an active phone number so they can start calling you and try to sell their product. That's how most telemarketers work.
If I were you, I'd report the phone number to http://www.callercenter.com and raise a warning about the sender.
- Will my message be delivered if sent as text message on iphone? My friend said that she was having phone problems earlier today. My message was being sent as an imessage, but I guess she wasn't receiving everyone of them, just getting the notifications that they were sent to her but she couldn't read them. I then responded to her, but it was sent as a text message this time and i have gotten no response. I'm not as much concerned about her responding or not, I just want to know if she will receive the message.

Not a number that I don't know, it literally said "Unknown" where the number was supposed to be. There was no text in the message, and I responded with, "Hi, who's this?" and I got one of those error messages in return. What does this mean? - Unknown number keeps texting me a blank message? A number keeps texting me a blank message, but instead of a number sending it to me, it simply says Unknown. I thought it was an error in something, then it happened two more times. Is it a person or just something messing up? I mean they're not saying anything, it's like they clicked the space button and sent the message. By the way, I have an iPhone.
