Why did I get a text message from an Unknown number?
So I have an iPhone 4 and I got a text message from an Unknown Number. Not a number that I don't know, it literally said "Unknown" where the number was supposed to be. There was no text in the message, and I responded with, "Hi, who's this?" and I got one of those error messages in return.
What does this mean? How do you even send a text message from a blocked number?
This is definitely interesting…
I doubt it's from a blocked number and I'd say it is safe to assume that this was just a text message that was corrupted some how on its way to you. It's really nothing to worry about.
Well you can't, but there are websites like anontxt.com that can send text messages to phone numbers anonymously.
If it was just a one time thing, I'd ignore it, I mean it's just like a freak thing. If it happens again, I'd call AT&T or Verizon and report what's going on.
- Why does my iPhone not make a sound when I receive a text from an unknown number? When I get a text message from a number that is not in my phone, my phone lights up and shows that I have a text but does not make a sound or ring. Can I change that somehow? I have an iPhone 5.
- Why did my number show up as unknown? I called my boyfriend and my number came up as unknown, even though I didn't call on private. Any idea why? I have an iphone 4.
- Why did my HP laptop start making Iphone text noise message? I was just playing an online game and suddenly it was doing it multiple times, nothing else was opened except for Skype, and Skype does not make that noise.
- Why could i have gotten a text message with no text box? Yesterday morning, I looked at my smart phone ( android) and I got a text from someone. I clicked on the contact's text and there was no message, no blank bubble, nothing. It just looked like one of us was getting ready to start a conversation but no message was sent. (Extra info: I may be wrong but I think this certain contact has an iphone.) What could cause this? I don't want to ask the person because it would be extremely awkward.
