Headphone jack won't work on iPhone 4?

I got my headphones stuck in my headphone jack. I went to a licensed Mac place to get it out. (They had to drill it out) They told me it was fixed and everything worked. I didn't try it because my headphones don't work and I had no way of testing it out. Now that I've gotten headphones the jack won't work. As it is Christmas Day and we're expecting a blizzard I can't go back right away to see I they can fix it. Any ideas about what might be wrong and how I could fix it?

It's either damaged from when you broke it, or the headphones were defective.
Try another pair to see if they work, if not, then you know it's because of the damage.

How do I get sound back with my music it even my keyboard clicks. The volume button isn't even showing while trying to listen to music.

  • Why won't the headphone jack on my iphone 5 work? I've tried different headphones and none have worked. I discovered that if i push the headphone in really hard and hold it there it will play music. Also i tried blowing into it and it made it play normally for a minute then the music started to fade. If you know any ways to fix it or how much it could cost to fix it that would be great.
  • What is the little hole besides the headphone jack on the iphone 4? Okay i have heard people with att that has an iphone say that if they stick a pin in the hole that a dim card tray will pop out. • Somehow, a huge piece of the headphone jack got stuck in the headphone port, and I can't find any I think the headphone type is just a normal iPhone headphone. So ground, audio, mic and some of the plastic, or whatever it is, around it, got stuck in there, and it's not super deep, probably because it's almost the whole headphone jack, but it's still in there. Someone please help! I can't find anything! It's just the headphone jack tip that got stuck for everyone else! It's a laptop.
  • Is my iPhone the cause of my headphone jack breaking? So I have an iPhone 4S and I was using these headphones for about a year and all the sudden the jack you plug in to the phone, bent. It wouldn't work anymore. I don't know how this happened, it may not have been my iPhone. However, now I have a new pair of headphones and I just want to make sure it isn't my phone doing this, could it be my phone or is that very unlikely?
