Help spotting a hiding person?

So, I have a stalker that has been blackmailing me, I can't go to the cops (seriously, don't even suggest this) but I know they hang out and hide to wait for us at a certain spot in the woods. I was thinking of getting a thermal app on my iPhone but they are fake. Any suggestions of how to see these people so we can find out what they want?

If your a guy, seriously you should be fine, just threaten to fight them or something.

If your a girl:
-don't go in the woods alone (like wtf kind of logic is that)
-bring a weapon, obviously not a gun (unless you hunt in the woods or something) but a pocket knife, even a carkey or a big stick.
-if you have a dog and you have to go out there alone, take the dog with you!
-don't act like you don't notice, wait a safe distance away, and you stalk then for a change. If you sit there and stare in their general direction with a mad look on their face they will most likely get the hint that you'll mess them up if they hurt you.
-avoid walking there

To see hiding people, you have to look at the area as if you were looking a hiding spot for yourself. And you can't get a thermal gun without a legit reason, and their expensive.
