How can I preorder an iPhone X that is going to be taken overseas?
Like many others- I'm desperate to receive the new iPhone X on launch date. My problem is that I would like to preorder it and have it sent to a friend of mine in the US who is then coming to me in South Africa with the phone, it isn't going to come in the mail but rather with him, but he leaves the US mid-november. My question is since there's currently no option for a sim-free iPhone X, how would I preorder one? If I select the Verizon option will they be asking for account information? I have a Verizon account but I really just want a phone that will be ready to use my current South African SIM card that is in my iPhone 6s, and purchasing the phone in SA will cost like $300 more… Please help!

I believe in that scenario you would be best to order the T-Mobile variant. One, because it is GSM & two it is unlocked, but comes with a T-Mobile SIM. Assuming nothing has changed since I ordered that variant for the iPhone 6 I got in 2014 you could just take out that SIM from the phone, put in yours & be good to go. That's what I did with that iPhone 6.
The Verizon models, I'm not 100% sure on it, but I believe they are also sold unlocked but I don't think they require that sort of info. I don't have any data with any US carrier & was able to get the phone fine.
I think you wouldn't have to put in info if you are buying it at full price.
That or hope that Apple would have a SIM free option before they go up for pre-order.

- Should I preorder the iphone 5? I can't decide… I was going to wait for it to actually come out, where reviews would already be out because I don't know if I want the iPhone 5 or samsung galaxy s3. My brother has the samsung galaxy s3 & I don't really like how big it is, in general I don't like the phone. But my friend has the iphone 4 and she charges it 2x a day which is ridiculous.

- Iphone 5, preorder or store? I'm going to buy an iphone 5 but I'm not sure if I should go to the store or predorder it. The preorder currently says 2-3 weeks. I want to know when the lines will clear out in Apple Stores and At&t stores. Will they only last for 1 day? What do you think i should do? I live in Fairfax, VA and could drive to washington dc. Or would there be no huge line in this area at all?
- How to preorder iPhone 6 with Verizon as the carrier? I know you can't preorder the iPhone 6 yet, but when you can how would I go about doing so if I have to order it from the apple store? Would I have to bring the phone to Verizon once I get it?
