How to start an internet radio station?
How much will it cost to start an internet radio station. I want to make an iphone/andriod app for it. I know what i need to do for the app but how do i get music legally and pay royalties for it. I want to play Texas/Red dirt country music its not very well known or mainstream. I'm just curious about the legal side and how i can get the music legally and play it on my station.
You will need licenses from ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, and SoundExchange on top of your bandwidth costs. It could very easily be a couple grand per year.
