How can people blindly believe what they're told by ads?

I see it every day, working with the public. I work for a clothing wholesaler and the same exact clothes we sell for half the price, if you simply put a different tag in it, and run a couple of commercials people will line up to gladly pay double. When I explain to people they are paying for the same shirt with a different tag they act like I'm insane. People do the same thing with Iphones, they simply buy the next one to come out, no matter how many phones are out there with the same or better specs, and for cheaper. Or people that insist every honda ever made gets to at least 200, 000 miles. That is 100% Bull I had an accord, at 130, 000 miles it was dead, it couldn't even pass inspection without 1, 100$ worth of work. People either feel bad after they shell out the money for these things, and then just live in denial until they believe the lie themselves, or simply don't do the research. A friend of mine just paid 5, 000$ for a car with 190, 000 miles on it… 190k! That's nonsense. Who even looks at a car with that many miles, I just don't understand how people don't get the best product for the least money and blindly spend on products, just because they run ads saying they're the best.

Ad companies intentionally make ads for the feeble minded. They know that if they use the right wording and right people, enough people will buy a product. It's all just shameful propaganda. Sad isn't it?

People will always want to believe what they're told, in response to why people believe ads. We all want to believe that others are telling the truth because we want to believe people are good, with good intentions.

As far as getting the latest iPhone etc, people want to fit in with everyone else. We will always want the next greatest thing. Its just the way the world is.

Can't change it, but you can be smart about it by realizing that's the way the world works, and follow what you want to believe. Save your money, get better things for cheaper. The rest of the world will just have to learn the hard way.

That's the power of advertising. It makes people believe & want the products. It's good that you don't fall for it but you can't stop others. People will eventually learn the truth themselves.

We were brainwashed to believe the things we're told by ad companies and the government.TV has become such a huge part of our life, that they used it to get us to believe everything that is said on it. I've worked in retail for a number of years as well, and saw it first hand. I worked for an un named big box furniture store, and i recall a bedroom set being priced at something like $1499. A few weeks later, the store had a bit promotional sale, which were supposed to have crazy prices. That same bedroom set was on sale for $1699 lol

The main thing is, don't fall for it yourself. Keep yourself well informed and never believe what ad companies say. Its usually the products that arent advertised 24 hours a day that are the best.

  • Why do people believe Apple is the best Tech company? I mean seriously. Compared to other phones, like the galaxy s4, the HTC one, the iPhone is pathetic. They never innovate, its pretty much the same iPhone every year, the galaxy s3 is better than the iPhone 5s, and the galaxy s5 is nearly coming out. Any OPINIONS would be appreciated.
  • People who have an iPhone 4S: Have you ever told Siri to go ma$turbate? I did and she said "we're talking about you, not me" how did she know? This is the first sexual question in the 7 questions i asked tonight.
  • I can't connect my iPhone 4 to itunes when it told me too? Okay, so basically, I changed my password because everyone at school kept going on it. I changed it, and then I forgot it. So I tried to get into it, It was just a simple number password. My iphone 4 is telling me to connect to itunes, so I plugged my iphone 4 in, and my laptop just said "Please respond on your phone to allow access" but I can't get on my phone to allow it. I'm not sure what to do? Anyone have any ideas?
  • Do you believe iPhone 6's bend and can cut you? I don't have one but care because I'm a freak and have nothing else to think about. My aunt got one and my dad has been reading all this stuff and says yoh know it made of aluminium the sides can cut you And they can bend
