Added (1). I purchased an AT&T iPhone 5s 16gb off ebay. The phone came in and it didn't come with a sim card. However everytime I try activating the phone just so I can use the apps and imessage and etc… It says please insert a sim card… Do I have to purchase one from AT&T or is there a way around this. Cause I really just want to get on the phone.

As the message tells you, you need a SIM card. There's no way around it. The SIM card doesn't need to have service; it just needs to be an AT&T one, OR if the phone is unlocked, any compatible carrier's card.

This may seem like a silly question, but I'm not that informed about cell phone plans really… I've had a iPhone 5 for the past year and a half through Verizon. It broke today. Like full on broke nto covered by insurance… I found a Verizon iPhone 4 for sale for like 70 bucks in great condition from someone on craigslist. If I buy that, can I go into Verizon with it and have them activate it for me and have it be my new phone? Does this make sense?
