How do I add more storage to my iPhone?
I have a 16gb iPhone 6 and the storage is horrible, I can't take anymore pictures because I ran out of storage and I can't download more than 3 apps. How do I add more storage on an iPhone 6?
Added (1). I guess I can't upgrade the storage, I just decided to order a new 256gb iPhone 8.
That is the joy of iPhone ownership. You can't. Apple want you to purchase a newer phone with a greater storage capacity.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Apple. You can't 'add' or 'modify' what they gave you. That's why many stay away from their iron grip of power.
Replace it with one of higher capacity.
This is EXACTLY why we both got iP 8+ phones last year. I no longer take a laptop or tablet with me when we travel - all my databases, business info, etc. As well as photos, music, etc. Fit with tons of room to spare.
You buy a new one with more storage.
You don't. On all fix memory devices, if you want /need more user accessible memory, you BUY a device that has more. SD cards are external storage, not phone memory.
So in your case, moving everything you do not want on the phone off, then deleting/moving, all old text, email, attached pictures, video and music, to somewhere that is NOT the phone in question, best option an external hard drive, that allows you wired and Wi-Fi access, even better if it allows internet access.
Only thing that can help going forward… Delete you browser cache once a week. Same with all media files you don't plan on keeping, if you are keeping them, move them off the phone. Check your camera settings and REDUCE the file size to a lower mega pixel, rather than the max.
You can't. But you can use Google Photos app (free) to store your photos and then delete them off your phone. You can also buy a SanDisk iXpand flash drive and offload your photos to it, and delete them from your phone. After you delete, you still have to go to the "Recently Deleted" album and delete them again to totally remove them from your phone.
Other than cloud storage there's no way. I would look into unloading media to cloud storage like Google Photos for the pics, vids.
