How to block an iPhone from connecting to my router?
We have very slow internet, and my sister's iPhone slows down my connection really badly (especially when downloading YouTube videos or the like). How do I block her iPhone from connecting to my router?
Go to your router control panel and block the mac address of her iphone.
Well what kind of computer do you have? I can help if you have a mac… Go to system preferences, open Sharing, then select Internet sharing, if it's the box is checked then uncheck it and select Wi-Fi options. Then set up a pass code and then your done.
Depends on the router. You'll have to go into the admin settings, which with most routers means using a browser to navigate to http://192.168.1.1 and entering the router admin password, this will give you the administrative console, and you can block her MAC address (which you'll have to get from her iPhone or some sort of network scanning and the process of elimination.) You're probably going to need the help of a computer networking expert. If you got your router from your ISP, call their tech support and ask for the guy that plays tabletop role playing games and hates his job (most of tech support don't know anything outside of their approved scripts. The guys who do hate working there. That's the guy you need)
Put a Security Key (WEP - Wireless Encryption Protocol. For accessing your Router. This way if you don't tell her you Router Security Key / password then she can't access it. I believe that you are connected to the router via an Ethernet cable and so you do not have to worry about WEP Key, as this is mainly used only for Wireless access.
- When you Block Caller on iPhone, does it completely block them or do they show up as Unknown? I routinely "Block Caller" telemarketers, so does using the iPhone "Block Caller" option block all calls, or will the calls still come through and just show up as "Unknown"? I've received a lot of "Unknown" phone calls lately, so that's what I was attributing it to.
- What's the difference between a cheap router and a good router? Just wanted to know the difference between a cheap router and an expensive router, I know that is a very broad question, I'm just a bit confused on how a router works. Does it increase my Internet speed on multiple devices? I get 50Mb per second, Well at least that's what I pay for. I have a PS3 two iPhones and a tablet, as well as a desktop PC that is wireless. Can anyone recommend an excellent router under $150
- Asus laptop stopped connecting to the wireless router? We know it is not the router because the HP Notebook works and our iPhones work. When Windows runs a detection for errors it reports none. We have unplugged everything a few times, have hit FN F2 nothing. The only message we get is to call a friend who might know how to fix it!
- Laptop not connecting to router? It won't connect to the router anymore for some odd reason but my pc is working fine as well as iPhone. I've tried resetting router and modem, turning on and off, restarting laptop, and also it keeps telling me I have the wrong router password when I'm aware it's right. And it will not allow me to visit my IP address. I have a toshiba with windows vista, help?
