How to get the Wi-Fi on my iphone 3 to work?

I just bought a sim card from straight talk. It should work with my iphone 3g. To change the apn, I'm supposed to access a website using the Wi-Fi on my phone. The Wi-Fi does work, sort of. I have sucessfully connected to my own home Wi-Fi network but the phone will only go to google. It will go to google and successfully search for whatever I type in, but it will not leave google and go to a different website or even load any websites i search for on google. It is like it wants to but it is incredibly slow and it just won't load. How can I fix this problem so that I can get my phone to work? I need Wi-Fi to work so I can change the apn. Is there another way to do this?

Odds are it's a software glitch on the iDevice itself, back up your data, and do a full restore (not upgrade) through iTunes to the most recent software available for the 3. Then try to unlock it.
