How to sync my iPhone with a brand new Computer?
Without losing all it's contents?
I have a new laptop and want to sync my Iphone, however my old PC has all the iTunes contents. I can't get to them because the PC is broke and won"t boot. I want to sync my phone anyway so I have at least some songs on my laptop and the apps, at least until I can get the PC fixed and get to the complete content. Any ideas?
Download iTunes and login with your username and password and you should be good to go.
What contents? ITunes purchases or other stuff? When you sync, everything not on the computer's iTunes will be erased.
iTunes purchases can be "saved" by simply authorizing the new computer and using "transfer purchases" to download to it.
Other stuff…
As far as non-iTunes purchased music, you'd have to find some software to copy from your iPod.
For advice try reading the answers given to the last 1, 000 people who asked how they could copy their music from their iPod.
In the future, you should back-up your music periodically to DVDR or CDR or flash or something. I do that and still have music I've saved over a decade ago. It's just incredible that this question gets asked over and over when simple backing up would obviate much of the problem. It's likely that some HD problem or more general computer problem would happen between backups, meaning that some songs wouldn't be saved, but most would be.
