How do upload previously synced photos from iPhone to iPhoto?

I have about 5 albums in my iPhone that I want to sync to my new Macbook Pro. I had previously synced albums from my OLD Macbook Pro to my phone knowing I would be getting a new one and thought I could sync those to the new laptop. I'm able to sync my camera roll but that's it! I have about 2,000 other photos I need to somehow get on this computer, and then delete from my iPhone for storage purposes.

So, how do I upload photos that were synced TO my iPhone from old laptop TO my NEW Macbook?

Any help is greatly appreciated! I need these off my phone and on the laptop.

Previous syncing can't prevent new syncing. Import every photo into iPhoto on the phone. Then just sync. It works. http://support.apple.com/.../kb/HT4083

The other albums must be from iPhone library and iPhone Photo stream.
I know that you can export them to the computer, and then delete from iPhone with some tool app.

You can use a 3rd party software like this iPhone file manager. It can help you copy photos, songs, videos and apps from iPhone back to your new macbook pro. And then you can manually import the photos into iPhoto.

  • Where are photos stored while importing with iPhoto? I was importing pics of a mates iPhone but an error occurred halfway through each time saying some jargon but i could see a lot were successfully imported before that happened and i'm wondering where they are stored as i can't see them in iPhoto anywhere or its folder through finder. Is there a temp folder they go first? Should i do a "rebuild"?
