How do young people make a lot of money?

I see high school kids and college all the time that have fresh new clothes and a collection of jordans that cost like $250 each. They have Polo shirts, levis, and a car. They always have a new outfit and they have iphone 5s. Even the college kids that should be on a budget are like this. What do you thinl they do to have all this? I want more money so what can i do to earn more than minimum wage?

It's the 'silver spoon' scenario. Their parents buy them all that stuff. Either that or they somehow got approved for a credit card or cards (also probably due to parents' income) and are promptly maxing out their credit line in an attempt to look 'cool'.

For the rest of us, the path is to continue with your education and hope to land a well-paying job so that you can buy what you want. (I personally don't place that much importance on having a lot of 'bling' or material goods. I have nice things, yes, but it's not the point of my life to 'advertise' that I have nice things.)

Choose your parents carefully. You can overcome your minimal lifestyle later in life.

Do business young people make a lot of money.

Real-life examples: A teen girl who did a lot of sewing invented a tote bag using a specific type of recycled materials. All her classmates thought these were cool & bought bags from her. Eventually she started selling online. Made enough money to pay her way through college. BTW, she designs & sews a lot of her really nice clothes, too.

3 brothers wanted a swimming pool so they could practice for swim team. Parents said, "You have to learn how to maintain a pool, and do them for a year before we'll think about it." Boys read up, started pool service for pool owners in their neighborhood. Expanded into wholesale pool chemicals & cleaning equipment, etc. Paid part of their pool cost the following summer, as well as covering all pool cleaning, servicing, equipment. #1 son paid for Harvard & Harvard Med. Sons #2 & 3 paid all their college & grad school. In addition to their medical practice, businesses, etc, they own a multi-state chain of pool & patio stores.

If you're working mall retail, fast food, etc, you're shortchanging yourself, unless you're too unimaginative, too unambitious, too stuck in a mindset to do anything else. E.g. Babysitting & mother's helper can pay 2-3 times what you earn at McD's. People survive off incomes from their businesses dogwalking, car detailing, tutoring, etc.

Do NOT assume these people have wealthy parents who spoil them! Many earn their own money, starting by the age of 12-14. Be more creative, inventive, and work smarter as well as harder.

Parents have alot of money, good for them, I didn't have that when I grew up.

  • Young rapper looking for a free app on iPhone to make beats on? I don't have my stuff that I would use to record music. So I'm looking for a free app to make beats on. It doesn't need to be anything complex. It could just be a drum machine or something. I'm just looking for something to rap over. I just don't like rapping over silence and other musicians instrumentals. It HAS to be free too.
  • Why do young people love iPhones so much? I'm 22 years old (so I'm young myself) and I honestly don't see the fascination with them. Nowadays, you get really good androids that are just as good and cheaper too. I have a Windows 8 phone and I love it. I'm not bashing iPhone users. I only want to know why a lot of young people (especially girls) favour them over other just as good smartphones. Is it really true that a lot of people have more money than sense?
  • Ways for a young teen to make money? I'm 14 years of age and not quite old enough to get a job yet. With the xbox one and iPhone out now I don't have enough money to purchase one yet. What could I do to make money? I live in a small town but would rather avoid strangers because my town is kind of 'getto'. If anyone could help that would be magnificent.
