Why do young people love iPhones so much?

I'm 22 years old (so I'm young myself) and I honestly don't see the fascination with them. Nowadays, you get really good androids that are just as good and cheaper too. I have a Windows 8 phone and I love it. I'm not bashing iPhone users. I only want to know why a lot of young people (especially girls) favour them over other just as good smartphones.

Added (1). Is it really true that a lot of people have more money than sense?

Hi as it is apple which is a fully integrated system it also is the main source of music with i tunes which even the androids use.
so it is simpler to use and having tried both a must say as a telecommunications engineer it works best.
yes i'm a geek and use all three systems, however for pure simple set up Apple comes out on top.

I don't like Android OS at all and the Windows one is terrible and has been for many years that's why I have the iOS. I'm also not young either.

I think it's a fad thing. It's "In". I'm 22 as well and I own a Galaxy S3 and love it to death. I never understood why either but I'm pretty sure it's something where if a persons friend has it, to better fit in, they will want the same product their friend has.
With android phones there's a lot of customization, as well as the ability to mess with the operating system which in my opinion doesn't seem like a thing majority of young adults like to do. IPhones are known for their simplicity and ease of use. Androids are bit on the complex side if you get what I'm saying.

I have apple myself i'm 25 have had it forever! Reason why ppl buy it is cuz of the name, the looks of it and its simple as anyone even a 2 year old can use a iphone. I'm actually switching to android this week!

Most young people as you would notice just got out of high school. In high school the mentality is to have the latest in vanity. Apple does a lot of marketing to keep young people interested in their products. Wether we like or, marketing influences a lot of people like zombies. Wether be it cars, clothes or latest gadgets.

I say apple is just doing too good a job marketing their products as cool to young people. That's why it's refreshing to see a young person who has a windows phone or android because you know that person doesn't listen to hype.

And if the argue is because iPhones are luxury items there for expensive. I say it doesn't matter especially under contract. Buying an iPhone, flagship android or flag ships wp out right will cost the same.

I can see two major reasons apart from the Brand name.

1. Apple having the More apps - Over 25laks.

2. I OS can come along with apple phone only - i OS Will play the VIDEO and Games Like Mirror Image so system does not get hang or slow. Even with Lesser speed of processor, this OS give best gaming experience.

Android phones can get Hang or Slow after Few months of usage.

Its not just young people, everyone I work with in the office has iphones. They are the best design and best hardware so thats why people like them.

Plus buying samsung is like supporting korea instead of your own economy.

There are multiple reasons why people buy iPhones. The phones appeal to several different demographics.

Some people just want something fashionable, and the iPhone fits this description very nicely. For these people, the iPhone is jewelry rather than a tool for daily life. No other phone has the fashion appeal of the iPhone, not by a long shot.

Others buy iPhones for more objective reasons. IPhones are sturdy, secure, stable, and extremely easy to use. They also have a huge number of useful apps available (the proportion of useful apps vs. Garbage is also much higher for iPhones). They continue to blow away the competition on each of these points, even though Samsung has tried desperately to copy the iPhone as much as it can get away with. Thus, people who want these qualities buy iPhones, too, irrespective of any fashion considerations.

It's not really linked that much to age, and in fact iPhones overall appeal to a slightly older age bracket than Android phones. But iPhones are also by far the leaders among teenagers. It's likely that these different age groups like iPhones for different reasons.

Statistics show that iPhones are more popular among the educated and affluent.

Android phones are popular among geeks and poor people. IPhones are popular among people who just want something that works, and are able and willing to pay the higher cost.

IPhones are better built & perform better than most, if not all, of the Android flagship models. Also, the security and ease of use are appealing factors as well & for others the interconnectivity with other Apple products like Macs, Apple TVs helps.
