How does an accelerometer work on an iPhone?
It's done with nanotechnology now. A "weight" at the end of a springy stick(s) moves when things accelerate, sensors measure how much it moves. But it's all on a chip. At least 3 accelerometers are needed for x, y, z axes, or 2 if some axes are combined.
See microphotograph of such a "silicon accelerator" integrated with a chip used in smartphones:
The "weight" is actually that floating corner piece, connected to the main body on both sides by long folded-up "springy sticks". See how it works? Trace out the cuts in this structure. I think the sensor is at that "dimple" at the very corner.
- Why does my Mods for Sims 3 does not work? I followed all the directions for installing the mods and rechecked it a lot of times. Whenever I opened my Sims 3, it doesn't work, for example, the Iphone Mod. I rechecked it a dozen times and even updated the game, for I once theorized that the problem must be it and it wasn't! I installed the Monkey Helper and nothing changed. My Sims 3 is version 1.36.
- What is whatsapp, what does it do and how does it work? I can't download it because I have ipod2 but I'll get iPhone 4 soon and I want to know if I might like it
