How long does it take a car battery charger to charge?

I have a portable car battery charger. In order to use it on the car you need to charge it first. Its been hooked into the wall for 12 hours, there's a red light on, there's supposed to be a green light that appears next to it once its charged. No idea what type it is, doesn't say anything on it. How long should it take to charge so i can use it on my car?

How long should it take to charge so i can use it on my car? My camera has a 1200 mA-hour battery. My cell phone, 900 mA-hour. My PC 5000 amp-hour. An iphone 1400 mA-hour. At about 10 volts

Take 1000 mA-hour or 1 amp-hour as average, x15 = 15 amp-hour. At about 10 volts that is 150 watt-hour

Figure 50% losses for the inverters and chargers, and the charge/recharge cycle. That means you need 300 watt-hours from the battery.

A 60 amp-hour battery x 12 volts is 700 watt-hours.
It looks like you have 700/300 = 2 days just from the battery. But this assumes all the phones are totally dead, and they won't be, unless everyone is using them pretty heavily.

But that number is not important, unless you can have 2 days with no sun. In that case you would be dead out. As to the size of the solar panel, it can be small. Using the above numbers, you would need 150 watt-hours per day, and if you get 8 hours of sun, that is about 20 watts worth of solar panels.
. Read the manual. I would have thought 12 hours should have been enough. The red light means that the battery has had enough time for a full charge, the green light means that the battery is charging.12 hours is quite sufficient Not knowing the amperage output it's hard to say. A 5 or 10 amp charger should have charged it by now. If it's a little trickle charger designed to maintain a charged battery it will probably never charge it if the battery was dead. A clue is the size of the charger case. If it's small ( say 3 or 4 inches tall and a 2 inches deep) it's a trickle charger. You need a charger with at least 3 amps or more to charge a car battery. There's nothing printed on it that states the amperage output? That sounds like a jump pack to start cars with a dead battery with. It's not a battery charger. After 12 hours of charging, if it doesn't work, it's too old.
The battery inside has spent too much time dead.

I don't know anything about these machines lol.

Because my lighter doesn't work due to a broke fuse in my fuse box… Anyway- is there any alternative to keeping my phone charged?
