How long should i put my iPhone in rice for?

Was in a sink of water for 3-5 seconds. How long should i wait.

Take the battery out first. The battery conducts through the water and corrodes the fragile circuits. Put the phone in the rice. That helps absorb moisture. Also, you might want to place the phone inside your car -- on the dashboard. The sun heats up the car every day and will help evaporate the water. After the phone has had a couple days of this treatment, put the battery back in and likely it will be OK.

1-2 days should be more than enough. I wouldn't wait more than 6 hours.

2-3 days, 4-7 if you want to make sure everything gets soaked up

  • How long should i put my iPhone in rice after water Damage? I had my phone in my pocket and without noticing i jumped in my pool with my buddies, I stayed in there for about 1:30 minutes and I got out of the pool immediately and tried to turn it off but my iphone didn't respond so I took the SIM out and dried it and placed it on a bag of rice with silica gel packs. How long should i keep it there? Or should I call a repair company?
  • How long should I leave my wet iphone in rice? I was pouring milk into my cereal bowl this morning, and the milk container ended up pouring all on my iphone 4S. When it got wet, it wasn't completely soaked, but it's not like it was just a splash of milk either. I think the milk managed to get in some of the cracks. I really don't think it is as bad as an iphone being dropped in water completely, so I'm thinking that I don't need to keep it in rice for as long. How long should I keep it in the rice?
