How much memory should I buy if buying an Iphone? - 1

What is more ideal for me. I want to buy an iphone, but I don't know if I should buy the one with 16gbs or 32gbs. I've never had an iphone before, I just plan to put some songs on it about 200. What else eats up the memory, that I should consider before buying?

I have 298 songs, 369 pictures, and a good 70 or so apps on my iPod, it is 8GB, i think that the 16 GB iPhone would be fine for a new iPhone user.apps can kill your memory, ones like GarageBand especially.

Measuring song capacity by the number of songs is a dicey proposition - song length also but not as inaccurate. On my iPod, I've got about 1900 minutes of music taking up a bit more than 2GB. That's over 600 songs at 3 min./song, obviously fewer songs as you go to 3.5 and longer/song. You can easily find out how much space your music would take up by downloading iTunes and putting all of your music on it.

Apps also take up memory - about 200mb each on my iPod Touch.videos will depend on which of (at least) 3 different formats you will use. For videos in h.264, its something like 500mb/hour. It's somewhat less for videos in xvid format, and no more than 150mb/hour in 3GP, which is the format used for cellphones. Honestly, you can play music and even video on many of today's basic phones. Unless you're doing more than that, any iPhone is a waste.
