How much money would I get from robbery and being a hostage? - 1

They found the get away driver and also the girl who assisted the robber that had a machete. I can sue the get away driver, the girl, and the house owner (because it happened in her house and she knew the guy but didn't give out his information that night.) The get away driver has a BMW, do you think i would get some money out of this? The girl who assisted got charged with x6 grand theft 3rd degree, and x6 armed robbery. 12 felonies, also the owner of the house (owns 2 houses). What do you guys think? Help

I don't think i could get money from the get away driver and the girl because their low class. But the house owner that knows both of them owns 2 huge houses, a car, inherited money from her dad (she's rich), do you think i could get her house insurance money? How does suing work? As far as I can tell by reading this mess of words, you aren't even a victim here. Your son was. You need to teach your son not to hang around people like this.

I know you are excited that because your son was a victim of a crime and you think you just won the golden ticket, but you couldn't be more wrong.

Ask the DA to add restitution to the sentencing. At some point in the far distant future, you will get a couple hundred bucks. Try to give it to your son - the actual victim.

You can also sue the parties to the crime for damages. The suit will have to be filed in your son's name, not yours. To get started, you need to find a lawyer who will take this kind of case.

At most, you can get triple actual damages.So, add up the cost of the iPhone, wallet, and belt, and triple that. Not much, is it? So, you'd be looking to get reimbursed for any medical expenses your son suffered as well. Still not adding up to a hill of beans? Well, now you're adding on emotional distress… That will be worth a few thousand.
