How much more data does my MacBook use than my iPhone 6plus?
When using my iPhone personal hotspot to my MacBook Pro does it use more data loading a webpage versus my iPhone? I normally use chrome browser. Also how can I minimize the amount of data my laptop uses when I'm connected to my hotspot?
It will definitely use more data. Not much you can do to minimize it other than stay off it.

Why? Your iPhone is connecting to a Wi-Fi network. Why can the MacBook Pro not also connect to the same Wi-Fi network?

This has happened in the past but not this quickly, I've noticed on the top left corner of my iPhone it says "Verizon LTE" if I disable that it will say "Verizon 3G" will I not use all of my data so quickly if I disable LTE and use 3G?
