Does LTE use more data than 3G?
I've already reached my data limit. This has happened in the past but not this quickly, I've noticed on the top left corner of my iPhone it says "Verizon LTE" if I disable that it will say "Verizon 3G" will I not use all of my data so quickly if I disable LTE and use 3G?
Not going to help… You will still use the same amount of data, just slower.
Instead of turning off LTE, turn off all the automatic updates and phone-home apps. Set them all so that they only use data when you tell them to, not every 5 minutes like most of them want to do. The more apps you have phoning home every 5 minutes, the more data you use, without even knowing it. Facebook, any chat apps you use, most other social media apps, are all using data all day long even if you aren't actively using that app.
I use LTE and never noticed that much of a difference far as data. Its just faster as browser speeds and downloading. And better signal at times with the LTE then 3G signal
- Why has my iPhone been using more data than usual? I have a 2GB data plan that i have never overaged on. I moved to a different state for college, and after using my phone for a couple weeks here, i'm already nearing 4GB of data. I'm not using it any differently, just how i did at home. I used 1 GB of data in a period of 7 hours. Could someone please explain how this is possible? I have spoken to Verizon and Apple, who both were of no assistance. I have fetch completely off, and location services off as well.
