How much would it be in total if I get the IPhone 4s?

The details say that if I get it with a 2 year contract, it's free. But I know I'm not going to walk out of the store without paying something. So how much would I actually have to pay when I get the "free" IPhone with a 2 year contract… Thanks in advance!

TBH, iPhones are money down the drain. They sell for an average 2x higher than any android phone yet Android phones are commonly better and more cost efficient. Buying I phones are some of the worst decisions I've made sending all that money down the drain.

I heavily encourage you to think about buying other phones, as many phones can do much more than the iPhone while costing a lot less.

Some thing about Android:
Android dominates 81% of the smartphone market share.
Google Play has a higher market share and 25% more downloads than iTunes.

The latest google phone, Nexus 5, has twice the battery and processing power of the iPhone 5S while COSTING LESS!

Final Note: If you have decided to make the wrong decision, get an 4S because there's almost no difference between all the iPhones. Apple just likes to over hype one little feature every release.

Depending on the carrier, there will be some fees. The activation fee will be around $20-$40 carrier dependent. Then, they will charge you a cent for the SIM card.

The iPhone 4S is a great alternative to a 5/5S and it's much cheaper too. Part of the price you pay monthly will be deducted and put towards paying off the unlocked price of the handset.

What carriers get when they offer you "free" phones with a two year agreement, is the fact that they are locking you in too a monthly payment for two years. All US carriers with contracts subsidize their phones as incentives to get people to buy them. The Iphone 4s costs about $450 unlocked and off contract. When your carrier offers it to you for free, they get you to sign a two year agreement and shell out loads of money per month for calling, texting and data fees. You are also paying off your phone with that money. This is why when you cancel a phone plan prematurely, the company will charge you whatever balance is left on your phone and a huge cancellation fee.

To answer your question, you will not have to pay anything upfront or in store. They will charge you an activation fee on the phone for around $30 bucks but that will be tacked onto your first month's bill. So in fact, you will walk out of the store without paying anything. You will just pay monthly for it after that.

Hope this helped.

It depends on the plan options you take, plus the $36 activation fee.

IPhones are a waste of money… I agree with the other Edward guy…
