How often should I charge my iPhone?

So I just got an iPhone, and in the past I have had troubles with battery life on some of my androids. So I have a few questions:

1) at what percentage should I charge
2) until what percentage should I charge
3) am I supposed to fully discharge it and fully recharge it

Charge when around halfway (30-50%). Don't fully charge or discharge

I recommend charging it as often as possible. Not that it has bad battery life, but with many apps open at once it's nice to be secure in the 70-90% range. At 30% or below you should probably be near ready to go charge it.

You don't have to worry about charging. The phone makes sure that you don't overcharge or undercharge. In answer to your questions:

1) It's okay to let the battery run out completely, as long as you recharge it promptly. Otherwise, charge it at around 10% or 20%, not just for the sake of keeping the battery in its sweet spot, but also so that you have a decent charge on it if you have to take it somewhere where you don't have a charger.

2) Up to 95% or so. You can charge to 100% if you want, but again, staying in the middle range of charge is the sweet spot for this type of battery. Keep in mind, though, that the circuits of the phone prevent the battery from over or undercharging no matter how you charge or discharge it when using it, so there's never any risk.

3) Once a month you should run it down until it shuts off on its own, then charge it back up to 100%. This isn't for the battery, it's for the software in the phone, which uses a full charge to calculate the capacity of the battery so that it can display the percentage of charge remaining more accurately. The battery gradually loses capacity over a period of years, so calibrating it like this once a month is useful.

Li-ion batteries are very sturdy, and the software and hardware in the iPhone is designed to preserve battery life, so you don't really have to fret over doing anything special to protect the battery. It will last for years before you see any noticeable change in capacity, and it will still continue to work for years after that. You'll probably get another phone long before the battery on this one starts to wear out. This is true no matter how you use the phone.

Charge when you can charge the iPhone, as science research showed.

This seems to cover the battery charging issue.

  • Is factory resetting iPhone too often bad for the iPhone? I factory resetted(Erase all content and settings) my iPhone over 7 times past 3 days.Is it bad for the phone?
  • IPhone often overheats when charging? Every time I charge my phone it gets extremely hot. It's only the batter but its extremely hot. Then when I take it off the charger after a full charge it dies in litterally 1 hour maybe 1 and a half if I'm lucky is there any thing I can do about this?
  • How to concentrate? I often get distracted by my iphone? However, i can't give up on my phone as i do a lot of good things with it as well. Like keeping track of my assignments, use what's app to do my project work. I do up a plan but can't follow it because of distractions
  • How should I charge my iphone 5 on its first charge? I heard that I should charge it for at least 12 hours before I use it. And then I heard that I should just charge it after I drain the battery. What should I do? If my iphone is already at 100% charged when I first take it out of the box, should I still charge it?
