How to activate an iphone 3g that has a broken sim slot?
Ok, so i bought an iphone 3g from a friend and its sim slot was broken. I intended to use it as an ipod so i didn't care. But when i upgraded its ios to 4.2.1 via itunes, it says that i need to insert a sim to activate it. Problem is, the sim slot is damaged beyond repair and so i can't insert a sim. Please, can someone help me activate it? Any kind of help would be much appreciated. Since I'm new to all these, a step by step tutorial would be much appreciated.
You should use a service that doesn't require a sim card. The 3g is also not supported from Apple no more and they will only let you upgrade to a certain version, I can't remember what it is, but they basically make you buy a new phone that can use newer software, otherwise most of the apps won't work on it.
